Den's Lair - Amalgam Creations That Make Best Sense To Me

This page contains fan creations of Amalgam Universe characters. The Amalgam Universe was a small project done by DC and Marvel Comics, in an attempt to make "fused" characters of their respective comic book organizations.

Super-Sentry (DC's Superman + Marvel's Sentry)

Credit for the artwork goes to Chizel-Man on Deviant Art
Real Name: Robert Kent
Other Aliases: Clark Kent, Robert Reynolds
Alignment: Good
Identity: Secret
Occupation: Journalist
Marital Status: Widower
Base of Operations: Avengers Watchtower
Affiliation: Judgment League of Avengers
Height: 6'0''
Weight: 194 lbs (86 kg)
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blonde
Powers: Super-Sentry possesses superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and nigh-invulnerability. He can fly and he has superhuman senses as well - most notably his vision; possessing X-Ray vision, telescopic vision, microscopic vision and infrared vision. It may be theorized that he also has the superhuman ability to generate, control, and emit light - most notably using this to launch blasts of light as well as creating hard-light constructs and his costume acts as a second skin - becoming indestructible while he wears it.
Origin: The son of George and Martha Kent, Robert Kent was a seemingly normal man who one day awoke from a nightmare during a thunderstorm.
While going downstairs under the guise of having to let the dog out, he plucked a book from the shelf and mused about his enemy, the Bizarre returning to Earth.
Believing that the Bizarre would be stronger than ever, and he would be the only hope for humanity, he revealed a bottle of serum hidden away within the book.
This very same serum was created sometime ago by Professor Cornelius as a means to recreate the Super-Soldier serum that created the American Guardian, using the blood of an unknown deceased infant alien from the long-gone planet of Kree-Ton.
He drank the serum, and began to glow with energy, soon after which he decided to use his newfound strength and power for good.
The powers he received from the serum included his flight, super senses, super-strength, nigh-invulnerability and more.
Robert then remembered his arch nemesis, the Bizarre and got a glimpse of using his powers to fight off the foe, who vowed vengeance.
Some time in his life, he married his co-worker Lois Vale - but she got killed by the hands of the nefarious Green Skull.
Special Abilities: Robert Kent has a genius-level intellect.
Equipment: Though he uses and needs no special equipment, his suit is invulnerable to many -if not all- forms of harm, wear and tear. This allows him to use his cape as a shield to protect innocents from being shot.
Weaknesses: Robert Kent is vulnerable to "Green K"; a green radioactive rock that seems to have come from the same planet as the infant alien. Exposure to this rock may drain and even nullify his powers. He also has a split-personality called The Bizarre (Bizarro + The Void), which is essentially an evil version of himself.

The Skulk (Marvel's Hulk + DC's Solomon Grundy)

Real Name: Robert Bruce Banner
Other Aliases: Solomon Grundy
Alignment: Neutral
Identity: Public
Occupation: Former scientist
Marital Status: Single
Base of Operations: Arkham Tower (also known as the Tower of Strangefate)
Affiliation: Doctor Strangefate
Height: 5' 10" (as Bruce Banner); 9' 2" (as Skulk)
Weight: 128 lbs (58 kg) (as Banner); 971 lbs (440 kg) (as Skulk)
Eyes: Brown (as Banner); Black (as Skulk)
Hair: Brown (as Banner); Black (as Skulk)
Powers: The Skulk is able to (albeit involunterily) absorb certain forms of energy and manipulate them at will. This gives him superhuman strength and stamina, as well as nigh-invulnerablity and to be able to leap vast distances of no less than several miles. Should he die sometime while in this form, he will be reborn sooner or later.
Origin: Bruce Banner was a scientist experimenting with radiation. An experiment he was working on went horribly wrong, however, and fused him with the elemental entity known as Solomon Grundy. The fusion between Banner and Solomon Grundy became known only as the Skulk. After a confrontation with Doctor Strangefate, Strangefate showed Skulk that he could keep the Skulk in his human form with the use of magic. The Skulk agreed to work as an agent for Doctor Strangefate in return for Strangefate keeping Skulk in the form of Bruce Banner most of the time.
Special Abilities: Bruce Banner has a genius-level intellect.
Equipment: None.
Weaknesses: Unknown.

American Guardian (Marvel's Captain America) + DC's Guardian

Real Name: Steven Grant Jacob Harper
Other Aliases: The Super-Soldier
Alignment: Good
Identity: Secret
Occupation: Professional Soldier
Marital Status: Single
Base of Operations: Avengers Watchtower
Affiliation: Judgment League of Avengers
Height: 6'1''
Weight: 205 lbs (93 kg)
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blonde
Powers: The American Guardian has peak-human physical condition, leaving him as strong, agile, fast, durable, reactive and intelligent as any human could possibly become.
Origin: In his civilian life, Steve Harper was a rookie cop in the local Police Department, walking his beat in the slums. He eventually enrolled in the army, although was classified as 4F. This made him a candidate for a Super Soldier program that made him into the American Guardian.
After a fierce battle with the Green Skull (Johann Luthor) sometime during the second World War, Steve vanished, presumed dead.
His body was later discovered by the Judgment League of Avengers, frozen and dead but in perfect condition. Years later, Project Cadmus set up a cloning program to clone Steve Harper and brought the American Guardian into the present day.
Special Abilities: He is a master tactician and strategist, an expert martial artist -most notably as a shield fighter-, military operator and master acrobat with an indomitable force of will. Thanks to being a former police officer, Steve is a master marksman and has vast knowledge of law and order, as well as investigation.
Equipment: Guardian's Shield - Originally a prop from a costume store, this shield was taken by the American Guardian back in the 1940s. He used it throughout his career. Being made of Vibranium, the shield is virtually invulnerable to nearly all forms of physical attack, but a sufficient amount of applied pressure could crack or even shatter the shield.
Weaknesses: Despite his peak-human physical conditioning, Steve Harper is still just a man and could just as easily be taken down by conventional means of harm if he is unable to dodge it.

Dark Bat (DC's Batman + Marvel's Daredevil)

Credit for the artwork goes to Bobkitty23 on Deviant Art
Real Name: Bruce Murdock
Other Aliases: Matt "Matches" Malone
Alignment: Good
Identity: Secret
Occupation: Lawyer
Marital Status: Divorced
Base of Operations: Batcave; Bruce Murdock's Apartment, New Gotham City; Avengers Watchtower
Affiliation: Judgment League of Avengers
Height: 6'1''
Weight: 205 lbs (93 kg)
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Red
Unusual Features: Blind
Powers: Bruce's four remaining senses are heightened far beyond human levels. Although blind, he can "see" by means of his "radar sense". This allows him to react to attacks and launch his own attacks much faster than normal humans. This also enables him to dodge most ranged and close combat attacks with reliability.
Bruce's senses grant him a superhuman level of kinesthetic awareness, which greatly enhances his fighting skills; he is a master of all known martial arts and a superb athlete and gymnast. He has the strength of ten men, heightened speed, agility, stamina and reflexes.
Origin: As a young child, Bruce Murdock watched his parents murdered before his eyes. Thomas and Martha Murdock were walking home from the Monarch Theater one night with their son, when they got run over by a truck. The resulting crash caused radioactive materials to spill out of the truck, which -after the exposure- caused Bruce to go blind. However, as compensation for this blindness, his other four senses started to operate at phenomenal levels. Stumbling around as the result of these two traumatic events, he was found by the blind former SHIELD Agent Alfred "The Stick" Pennyworth - who decided to raise him as his own son and became his most trusted friend.
Bruce soon after swore an oath to rid the city of the evil that had taken his parents' lives. He spent his youth training himself under the teachings of Alfred to intellectual and physical perfection and learning a variety of crime-fighting skills, including chemistry, criminology, forensics, martial arts, gymnastics, disguise, and escape artistry - all the while also studying law to give himself two efficient ways to fight crime; as a vigilante and as a lawyer.
Special Abilities: The Dark Bat is a phenomenal athlete, a master in all martial arts, as well as the world's greatest detective and lawyer. He is also a great escape artist and master of disguise.
Equipment: The Dark Bat uses a utility belt that contains various pieces of equipment, such as lasers, gas grenades, ropes and Batarangs. However, his most frequently-used weapon is his telescoping walking stick, which he can use as a bo-staff. This stick also contains extremely durable string, allowing it to be used as nunchucks or a grappling hook.
Weaknesses: Despite his peak-human physical conditioning with super-senses, Bruce Murdock is still just a blind man and could just as easily be taken down by conventional means of harm if he is unable to dodge it.

Blue Spider (Marvel's Spiderman + Blue Beetle)

Credit for the artwork to Walfiend2 on Deviant Art
Real Name: Dr. Peter Theodore Benjamin Stephen Kord
Other Aliases: Ted Reilly
Alignment: Good
Identity: Secret
Occupation: Professional Photographer, Inventor
Marital Status: Single (married to the Insect Queen prior to alteration of personal history by Mephisto)
Base of Operations: New Gotham City; (sometimes) Avengers Watchtower
Affiliation: Judgment League of Avengers
Height: 5'50''
Weight: 178 lbs (81 kg)
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Brown
Powers: The Blue Spider possesses superhuman strength, agility and stamina. He can leap several feet and stick to walls. He also has something he calls a "Spider Sense"; a psionic ability that warns him for imminent danger.
Origin: Peter Kord is the son of Richard and Maria Kord (formerly, Garrett). However, he had to move in with his uncle Dan and aunt May for unspecified reasons.
After the funeral for his uncle Dan, Peter went up to the attic to grieve and be by himself when he stumbled across an old locked chest. Wedging it open, he saw newspaper clippings of the a Golden Age hero and all his gear. Digging through the stuff a little more, he finds the Ruby Spider and is shocked. While examining it, accidently pricks his finger on one of the jeweled arachnids teeth and visions come to him. He then gains the knowledge and skills of all the people who wielded this spider before. He also learned that his uncle was not gunned down by accident, but hunted down for who he was... seeking vengeance, Peter makes himself a new costume and designs new web shooters (paintball guns that shoot web streams or pellets) to follow in his uncle's legacy.
Special Abilities: Peter is a talented inventor and has a genius-level intellect. He is also an accomplished acrobat who, more often than not, utilizes this greatly into his hand-to-hand fighting style. He is also highly skilled in espionage and studied with several martial arts masters, allowing him to out-fight just about any group of thugs or criminals with his fighting skills alone.
Equipment: He uses two web shooters - specially constructed paintball guns that are able to shoot web streams or pellets. While shot as a stream, he can use it to swing around. The pellets are able to wrap themselves around an area, effectively blinding or outright immobilizing enemies.
He also wears a utility belt that houses a spider-signal in its buckle and several "Spider-Snoopers"; spider-shaped surveillance drones that he can use to track people or vehicles, or that he can set to fly around for spying or check hazardous areas.
His costume also contains two nigh-indestructible yellow orbs where his eyes are. These orbs are actually filled with nano-technology, allowing him to see into the infrared spectrum as well as to be set to a radar for the Spider-Snoopers.
Weaknesses: Because his genetic code is somewhat re-written as a spider's of human size, the Blue Spider seems to suffer from the effects from insecticides. Added to that, substantial harm may overcome him.
